H.I.M. was Born to Put Out the Fire!
We have had the opportunity to get to know some of the most amazing people in the world. People who not only have to fight extreme poverty, but also other religions and believe it or not, their government. These are our everyday heroes, the people who need above all Human Dignity. H.I.M. was created to provide human dignity by advancing the Gospel in the most unreached and impoverished nations around the world. During our journey, we have had the opportunity to build schools, educate young people, start businesses, repair broken homes, and show people the love of Christ.
Our journey has produced unbelievable stories that have touched our hearts as nothing else has. Now we want to share them with you. In these stories you will learn how we:
Share the Gospel
Advance the Gospel in the most needy and impoverished nations around the globe.
Build Communities
Empower individuals with skills whereby they can support their families and create opportunities for themselves and others.
Do Good Works
Meeting physical and emotional needs of people is the best avenue to meet their spiritual needs.

Who would put sewing and human trafficking in the same sentence?
Pastor PK has done just that by starting a sewing and tailoring school. In the slums of Hyderabad there aren't many options for women to support themselves. Teaching them a skill helps them earn a living and keeps them safe from human trafficking.
Numerous women have learned tailoring skills and how to use a sewing machine while listening to the story of Jesus. Once they graduate from the sewing school, they are given a sewing machine to start their own business. Lives, human dignity, and a relationship with Jesus is now possible. There is hope for the hopeless.

Vinay has been empowering people in the poorest communities in India. He supports them by providing care for the whole person; social, emotional and spiritual well-being. With the help of H.I.M. he is raising funds for struggling pastors to start businesses. By helping them to become self-sufficient allows them to share the Gospel to many poor and unreached people in India. This amazing livelihood initiative has started a computer business center, garment and tailoring shops, taxi and rickshaw and a dairy farm.

Our partner, Prasad, believes in the analogy, give them a fish you feed them once; teach them to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.
He has a vision to grow the livelihood initiative in remote villages in India. With a small investment, a local pastor was given the opportunity to start a goat farm to support his family. He is now able to reach the unreached people groups in rural areas. There are three village women helping care for the goats and selling the milk at the market. With this livelihood initiative he is helping new believers come out of poverty.
By taking care of their physical needs, he gains trust to share the Gospel.

When you picture a school, you picture a large building with all the newest conveniences, clean floors and desks. Have you ever known your child's school to not have enough food? People don't usually think of 140 hungry kids sitting on a dirt floor.
Until recently, this was the condition of the New Hope School in Zambia, Africa. They now have concrete floors, two new classrooms and an office from the generous people who donate to H.I.M. Most of the children are very vulnerable to trafficking, drug use, and malnutrition. They are usually raised by grandparents or guardians because they have lost their parents to HIV or Covid-19.
Pastor Christopher and his four volunteers work tirelessly to educate and provide meals to the children in this growing school.

Compassion Mercy Orphanage has been in operation for 17 years and H.I.M. has been supporting this orphanage and the girls since it opened. They are under constant threats from their Hindu neighbors and the girls face persecution at school. Compassion Mercy houses 25 to 30 children, including some with special needs. Recently, they have had to find a new place to call home due to dangerous circumstances. They will be moving soon to their new location and are excited to get settled. The children have a daily regimen of Bible study, songs, school, and chores. They also learn musical instruments and care for a vegetable garden to help sustain themselves.

Our children get up in the morning, get ready for school, and either walk, ride the bus or we drive them.
Would you believe there are children in this world who live and go to school in a trash dump? On the outskirts of cities, entire communities of people exist on the fringes of society. The name “trash dump village” has been given to one of these communities because the village is built inside of a trash dump. That is where Pastor Vashi's ministry is located. He started the New Life English School which directly impacts the lives of hundreds of children. Of the 50,000 people who live there, 25,000 are children. These children are not only at risk of disease, malnutrition, abuse and human trafficking but they and Pastor Vashi are threatened by the neighboring Hindu's and sometimes even the government!
Despite all this, Pastor Vashi feels called to take care of these children.

Naeem and Ruby are helping the marginalized rebuild their lives. During Easter weekend ten Marwari families were attacked by an angry mob of Hindus simply because they were Christian. The mob set their mud and straw houses on fire leaving only ashes. These families are now living under open sky with no home or any of the necessities of daily life. In spite of the fear of persecution and/or death these people are determined to have faith in God.
They are also helping hundreds of Afghan refugees who have crossed into Pakistan fleeing from the Taliban. They came with nothing and live in very poor conditions. Their needs are so overwhelming and require more help. Naeem & Ruby are trying to support 150 families with blankets, food, clothing and other items to help them survive.

Eight years ago, Typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines which caused thousands of deaths. It was then that our partner, Noe, started Operation Build Up. He focused on helping families rebuild their houses, churches, and community. Noe continues to see much devastation, not only from the pandemic but also from Typhoon Goni. This typhoon barreled across the Philippines and brought catastrophic winds (140mph) and rain. Many people died amid the storm surge, flash floods, and power outages. He and his staff have continued Operation Build Up to help the victims of the typhoons rebuild their houses. Some of the people have been without housing for months and months. His Covid Relief project has also helped hundreds of people that are less fortunate, especially those tribes that are in rural areas. Many areas are only accessible by horseback. During these extremely hard times, he has been able to bring many people to Christ and held large Baptisms. Please pray for the people in need in the Philippines.

Can you imagine being the victim of a flood, your home being burned down, or receive physical threats? Then add the sickness of a pandemic, poisonous insects, and unhygienic conditions. This is the situation that many people are facing that Pastor Suraraj is trying to help.
More than 60 Christians, from four different villages, were forced to flee their homes and take shelter in the jungles of India due to persecution. They are now stranded in the jungle without proper food, shelter, water, and electricity waiting for help. Many of their houses have been burned and the families fled their village after receiving serious threats of assault. You can imagine the many needs including stable houses, toilets, water, household items, beds, etc.

God is using Sanga's ministry to bring the Gospel to the indigenous tribes in the remote villages of Bangladesh. New believers are eager to hear the good news. Most of them cannot read or write, and some of their languages have no written script.
Sanga and his team have translated several books and worship songs into the local languages. Even though the government is very hostile and prohibits evangelism in the country, he has used medical outreaches and distributed clothes to reduce superstition and to gain the villager's trust. Through his work he is touching the hearts of the unreached people.

Have you ever seen worshipers sitting outside in makeshift canopies during church services? That is exactly what happened in Kaduna, Nigeria in 2022 when the church grew from 200 to 400 people.
Albert has not only overseen the church expansion there, but worked in the states of Kebbi and Niger where their churches are thriving. The H.I.M. team visited there to teach local church leaders, deliver motorbikes to the Pastors and distribute clothes and shoes to the villagers.
Since the villagers have become Christians, their government has neglected them and are frequently persecuted. They have no clean water, accessible roads, electricity, or schools provided by the government. The church is helping the village children with a school in the church.

That's right! Only prayer can explain our ministry. It has been a time of thoughts, dreams, feelings, burdens, desires, delights and challenges. Only prayer from people like you can explain how this has happened. Our network of influence and relationships continues to spread across the USA and around the world.
We have shared a very small part of what our partners in Africa, India, and other countries are doing with the help of GOD.
There is so much more!! For example, our partners in Austria/Croatia are taking in Ukrainian refugees. There are also so many poor struggling to live in a new land.
The prophet, Ezekiel called us to the "watchman on the wall". As the watchman watched then, we are watching now.

We have shared only a small window into the world of Heartland International Ministries with you.
The majority of us cannot fathom what it would be like to live in these circumstances , and fear retaliation for believing Christ is our Savior. Yet the continent of Africa has 47% of their people who have professed Jesus compared to the less than 10% in Europe and the US.
There is much work to still be done.
Words cannot express the feelings of our heart when we thank you for taking time to learn more about HIM.
